Unveiling a Beacon of Hope: Our Community Center’s Inception

In the heart of North Minneapolis, an exciting new chapter is unfolding as we embark on the development of a space that promises to be a beacon of hope for the community. This space, a fresh addition to our organization, symbolizes the unwavering spirit of progress and the dawn of a new era.

As renovations and development work continue, this building is poised to become a place where lives will be transformed, where individuals will find a haven, and where the community will unite as one. It embodies the power of compassion and the birth of a remarkable addition to our mission.

We invite you to be part of this remarkable journey. Together, we will witness the inception of a space where hope thrives, lives are changed, and inspiration knows no bounds.

Join us in celebrating the development of our future community center, where the promise of hope is becoming a reality, lives will be transformed, and inspiration will find its home.

**A Special Message from Mother Miles:**

Several weeks ago, the Minnesota Overdose Awareness Board of Directors held an emergency meeting and voted to merge with another nonprofit, leading to a leadership restructure under this new organization. I am incredibly proud of the work we've accomplished, turning our vision of a welcoming space in North Minneapolis into a reality, providing non-judgmental, non-coercive, and dignified services to those in need.

Despite my hopes to continue as an informal consultant, it seems the MOA Board had other plans. As of today, I am no longer part of the organization. But rest assured, this will not deter me from continuing to use this platform to share valuable information and to plan our annual Overdose Awareness Day event.

I continue to maintain this Page and all of its content, in my personal capacity as a concerned member of the community.

The future is still bright, and together, we will keep advocating for those who need it most. Let’s keep pushing forward—whether they’re ready for us or not.

Happy Labor Day!
